Local relationships
Tower places great importance on establishing good relationships within Uganda. The oil and gas resources are owned by the Ugandan people and oil companies are contractors under the terms of Production Sharing Agreements. Tower conducts its local operations in the spirit of this arrangement. It treats the Government as its partner and works closely with local administrators in all relevant government Ministries but particularly with the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. It conducts its operations in the West Nile Region as a guest of the local community, represented by a wide variety of local leaders. Continuous interaction is maintained with leaders of the principal towns and villages where Neptune Petroleum Uganda conducts its operations. Tower's Chairman visits each such community at least once a year to explain the Group's objectives.
Local relationships in West Nile are facilitated by focused social investment projects established after consultation with national and local government and the communities themselves to establish the greatest need and the potential for sustainability.
