Tower Resources appoints Peter Kingston as non-executive Chairman

Tower Resources plc (“TRP”), the AIM listed oil and gas explorer with exploration licences in Namibia and Uganda has appointed Peter Kingston as non-executive Chairman with immediate effect.

Peter (62) is currently Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director of Soco International plc. During his 40 year career in the oil and gas industry, Peter has held non-executive directorships with Northern Petroleum plc and Powergen North Sea Limited. From 1984 until 1992, he was Technical Director of Enterprise Oil plc and prior to that he was an independent oil and gas consultant for six years.

He started his career with Shell as a petroleum reservoir engineer and played a leading role in the development of Shell’s earliest oil field developments in the UK North Sea.

Commenting on the appointment, Russell Langusch, Tower Resources’ Executive Director said: “I am delighted that Peter has agreed to join us at such an exciting time for the company following the acquisition of Neptune Petroleum Limited late last year. Peter has a vast wealth of experience, not only in terms of his technical expertise but also in the area of corporate governance and the management of successful small and medium sized companies.  I look forward to working with him and our other directors in moving the company forward.”
